How?

We are an emerging organization currently working in collaboration with WNC Food Systems Coalition who is operating as our fiscal sponsor. Our first step in building county wide trust, along with the process of maintaining accessible monthly community meetings around the county, is to take the risk and deploy a strategic money generating machine within a non-profit framework. This will be achieved through a combination of generous donors, business savvy leaders, grant writers, and our team pulling up their sleeves to work together to do the foundational work.

Our target for the coming year is focused on the development of a food hub in Marshall that will partner with local farmers to collect and distribute locally produced foods and manage purchasing accounts to reliably wheel and deal these food items to smaller sub-food hubs in our remote communities, (where it is currently often an hour drive to access a grocery,) and across the region. Food sovereignty, support for local small scale farmers, and support for low income neighbors are not simply tag lines, these core principals are what drive us and is woven in through every aspect of our business plan.
